Kundalini Yoga GR’s upcoming 6 weeks Kundalini Yoga series, starting the week of September 10th will focus on the NERVOUS SYSTEM. You cannot do more important and interesting work ! Involved in every function of the body, the nervous system is the fulcrum of life and command center of the body.
BALANCE will be our the key word here. Finding balance is essential to maintaining the health and vitality of the nervous system. When the nervous system becomes overtaxed and overstretched by stress, we become susceptible to overwhelm, depression and illness.
This series will also act on the ENDOCRINE SYSTEM which works hand in hand with the nervous system as managers of the body. When they are balanced, the body is balanced.
We will work on reinforcing the FRONTAL LOBE (where conscious decisions are being made) and calm down the LIMBIC SYSTEM (fear/survival), so that when stress arises, you do not fall into fight or flight mode immediately.
We will also focus on balancing your RIGHT BRAIN (feelings, emotions, big picture) and LEFT BRAIN (facts, language details, logistics). Kundalini Yoga and meditation help cultivating dialogue between both hemispheres.
We will stimulate your THIRD VENTRICULE (connecting point between rational upper parts of brain and deeper survival-based functions of lower brain). Through deep meditation, physical and subtle anatomy merge in this space as the glands create the biochemical experience which correlates to the aha moments of bliss. It is the foundation of the BODY-MIND connection.
And finally we will learn how to consciously access and manage the AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM through breathing : sympathetic (accelerator, boost of energy, fight of flight) and parasympathetic (decelerator, diminishing energy, rest and digest). This is key to stress management and increasing your capacity to withstand stress. Instead of a teacup’s worth of stress sending someone off the deep end, it’s more like a bathtub’s worth of space to hold and process stress.
Each week, we will focus on a different aspect of the nervous system. Every class will start with a specific warm up (physical or pranayama), followed by the main kriya, a deep gong relaxation and when there is time, conclude with a meditation.
As usual, I will create a closed facebook group for students where I will share the teachings to encourage everybody to start some kind of home practice.
Classes will resume with this 6 weeks series the week of September 10th.
There will be 3 (same) classes every week :
Tuesdays 9:30-11 AM : Sept 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 15
Wednesdays 5:15-6:45 AM : Sep 11, 18, 25, Oct 2, 9, 16
Thursdays 9:30-11AM : Sept 12, 19, 26, Oct 3, 10, 17
Please pick your day and time, either the Tuesday Series, the Wed Series or the Thursday Series. If room is available, you may switch to another day when you cannot make your usual day.

You may pre-pay for the whole series and have a reserved spot ($75), or if you are a regular student, you can use your 6 class punch card ($75). But please let me know if you are joining, so that I can manage space.
